The teachings of ethics and morality aren't arbitrary linguistic rules to burden experience. Cultural and political impositions of good and bad to coerce the masses. But in another sense they are the linguistic materialization of contemplation and dialogue surrounding universal patterns. We offset larger forces than we have the capacity to grasp in the immediacy of our cognition. These sometimes have expeditous consequence or long term. Usually both if adopting the correct perspective. Morality in it's most absolute form is derived from an observation these consequential patterns.
When a school of thought promotes happiness as it's idealized moral standard, then you are bound to find problems. The universe doesn't want happiness. This is human luxury and folly. A consequence of our ability to remember and compare.
When a school of thought promotes power as it's idealized moral standard, then you are bound to find problems. The universe doesn't want power. This is human poison. A consequence of our ability to grasp our own morality and feebleness.
When a school of thought promotes peace as it's idealized moral standard, then you are bound to find what you are looking for. The universe is expansion and collapse. This is the nature of seeking. You find something you didn't; expand. You destroy what you thought you knew in order to make space for your newfound perspective; collapse.
The universe has many explanations. For me it's immense nature can only be grasped in states of serendipitousness. This state of being is futile to explain.
